Break To Repair πŸ’”[picture poetry]

My lips know all the words of my soliloquy,
The good, the bad, and even the ugly.
Despite the burden I lay on them,
My lips are forced to do and witness
As I hold a gentle kiss on your forehead;
My version of Judas, while I cruelly betray
The raw love your smiles do ever testify,
For to you I am your Romeo to the death

Now I have to blacken my entire heart
Like the black poly bag hanging on my bike,
To shed my feelings and become a monster,
As I break your heart with unsaid words
Ready to gush out from my untamed mouth.

As your hands form a chain around my neck
So does my heart feel, trapped, chained
To your love and I desire to set myself free.
As you lean on me as a rock for your love,
That your heart never falls, not to break;
I wish I had fallen, fallen in love, but didn’t.

I need a break from us, from you,
Like my bicycle from my oppressive behind.
Maybe my eyes were roped by lust,
By the curves that boldly outline your behind.
But if I am to be honest with you,
I was never in love but hoped to be.

These are the very words I want to utter:
‘Love, I can no longer endanger my feelings,
Stuck with you while I pretend to love.
I am breaking your heart to repair mine.’
Sigh, with eyes closed as my mind does rehearse.

    1. Indeed. Sometimes being together with someone you think may bring progress may actual be your hindrance. The best thing is go separate ways and figure things out clearly.

  1. This was me earlier this year, you captured my experience β€” if I didn’t know better I’d say you knew me. Beautiful! You know a poet is excellent when you find yourself in their words β€” you’re excellent

    1. You flatter meπŸ™ˆπŸ˜Š. Sad it breaks your heart, I’m glad my poem was able to have that effect though.
